Chapter Eleven

Asa woke up with a heavy weight on his chest. He opened his eyes to see Maurice. His mate had stayed the night and sometime during the night cuddled up next to him. It was perfect. He couldn’t remember the last time he had a good night’s sleep like this. His mind hadn’t wandered to where he was up all night long.

Things were progressing slowly between Asa and his mate, but Asa wasn’t discouraged. Last night they overcame a huge hurdle and now he was lying in bed with Maurice’s sexy body wrapped around his. With any luck whatever fears Maurice had were starting to slip away.

Asa knew he needed to be patient and take things slow with Maurice. If he didn’t pressure Maurice, his mate would succumb to the bond growing between them. Having sex only increased those odds.

Maurice started to stir and Asa combed his fingers through Maurice’s messy hair.

“Morning sunshine. Did you sleep okay?” Asa asked.

“I did.” Maurice stretched his arms over his head, smiled and his eyes squeezed shut. “How about yourself?” Maurice scratched his hand over his chest.

“Pretty good. It was hard to sleep with another man drooling on my chest, but I managed,” Asa teased.

“Oh my gosh!” Maurice clamped a hand over his mouth. “Please say you’re joking.”

“Well…” Asa shook his head from side to side and shrugged.

“You jerk!” Maurice grabbed one of the pillows and smacked it into Asa’s face.

Asa grabbed Maurice’s wrist and pinned it over his head. He grabbed the other one and did the same. He wedged himself between Maurice’s thighs. His breath came out hot and heavy as he took in his mate’s scent combined with the leftover remnants of sex.

“You’re going to pay for that.” Asa thrust his hips to nudge his hard cock up under Maurice’s balls.

“Oh yeah?” Maurice lifted his legs to clench at Asa’s sides. The heels of his feet digging into his ass cheeks. “What’s the cost?”
